TNK-BP 2011 Technology Forums Program

TNK-BP continues the Technology Forums initiative, started last year, to share experience, establish interaction between production and oil and gas service companies on the common discussion platform, and to jointly seek technology solutions. In 2011, the Corporate Forum shall be preceded by three Regional Forums. First forum for West Siberia Division has been held in Nizhnevartovsk on June 15.

We are inviting service companies to participate in the Forum in Buzuluk on August 3, 2011, and in the Greenfield Forum in Irkutsk in the second half of August this year.

Efficient innovations and implementation of new technologies are extremely important for successful development of the Company with depleted brownfields and complex greenfields. The market offers new technologies and approaches, which when properly implemented can significantly contribute to the Company business development. It is important to establish god business relations between the customer and services to understand technology tasks, priorities, problems, and to seek proper technology solutions.

In 2011, TNK-BP continues the Technology Forums initiative, started last year, to open opportunities for technical specialists to discuss new approaches, learn about new technology solutions, share experience with the industry experts and colleagues.

TNK-BP is implementing an expanded program this year, including three Regional Forums and a Corporate Forum scheduled for the end of September – beginning of October 2011.

First Regional Forum for West Siberia Division has been held in Nizhnevartovsk on June 15. The objective of this significant event was to share information and knowledge on implementation of new innovative technologies at the Company brownfields.

The Nizhnevartovsk Forum combined the technology agenda of four subsidiaries of the West Siberia Division: OJSC TNK-Nizhnevartovsk, OJSC Samotlorneftegaz, OJSC TNK-Nyagan, OJSC VNG. The Forum was attended by about 35 service companies, experts from the Corporate Center, TNNC, Tyumen Expert Support Center, specialists from other regions of TNK-BP operations.

Next Regional Forum scheduled for August 3 in Buzuluk shall bring together target subsidiaries of the Orenburg Region – OJSC Orenburgneft, LLC Buguruslanneft, NGDU Sorochinskneft. Top priority innovative areas in this region are as follows: enhanced oil recovery; new well drilling cost reduction; well liquid lifting efficiency improvement; infrastructure efficiency improvement. Orenburg specialists plan to run the Forum activities in the following breakout sections: infrastructure equipment; drilling innovations; enhanced oil recovery and WSO technologies; new downhole equipment.

The third Regional Forum on Greenfields is scheduled for the second half of August to bring together OJSC VCNG, LLC TNK-Uvat, CJSC Rospan International. The planned event hosting city is Irkutsk.

The Forum’s objective is to review the existing issues related to development of Siberian Greenfield projects.

The agenda of Day 1 of the Forum shall be dedicated to review of downhole technologies, including RSS in drilling; well completion innovation technologies aimed at production separating; selection of muds and cementing issues; gas well designs and well operation issues (injection and production).

On Day 2, the participants shall review infrastructure development designing concepts; approaches to functional project management; use of temporary / mobile surface facilities, and improved gas metering solutions.

The TNK-BP Corporate Technology Forum shall be held at the end of September – beginning of October 2011 to discuss overall strategic issues of the Company level.
