  If one day our company decides to present awards for the most unusual careers in the oil business, the name of Jonathan Kollek, VP, sales, trading and logistics, will most certainly appear on the list of nominees. During his years at the University of Jerusalem, where he studied economics and foreign affairs, his main passion was making movies. >>

• Marina Tsaplina: Walk and Thee Shall Reach…

  Marina Tsaplina is Chief Specialist in the production support group at the PiT Processing Department. She has also worked at the Orsk refinery as Head of Oils for two years. This charming woman, mother of three, a candidate of technical sciences and a born scientist, finds the technology of oil production to be not only a walk of life she chanced upon, but her raison-d’etre and even a lifestyle. >>

  The Potapovs: The History of Orenburg Oil

  The explosive growth of the oil industry in the 1960s demanded a big input of labor. As a result, the Orenburg area started attracting people from other regions. Over nearly seven decades of strong oil production growth, more than 4,000 wells were drilled in the Orenburg area. Geologists advanced into the region from the northwest heading towards south. Oil producers started in Buguruslan and by the 1960s had arrived in the Buzuluk district. >>
